Prediction "Book Thief":P:P:P

When I started reading the "Book Thief” it seemed very difficult, but I read chapter 2 and now I am understanding it better. What I predict that Liesel will become a stronger person. When her brother died she felt really sad and weak because she lost her brother and now she is going to live with her fosters parents” The Hubermanns.” Also she is never going to see her mom again. I think Liesel is going to steal more books and collect them, so see could have something to hold on and a memory of her brother. Also each place where she is going to steals a book, it would be an important place and she is going to past many adventures. She is going to learn how to read first, and I think Ms. Rosa Hubermann will teach her how to read. Liesel will find a way to live and entertain herself. I think she is also going to fight for what she wants. She is going to fight for freedom, she is going to go and find her mother, and maybe try to meet his father. Liesel will past adventure and exciting moments each time she steals a book, but she needs to be careful because the Nazis can find out, and they hate books. The Nazis may burn all the books she has steal or maybe they could get so mad that they could kill her. I think Liesel will die because she can have the disease of her brother Werner, it can be genetic. I think Liesel is going to start getting along better with the Hubermanns. Rosa is going to change her attutide and she is going to start and help Liesel and preparing her for anything that might happen in the future. I think Hans will die because of smoking. I got very curious when death mention about that he only saw Liesel 3 times.....that is very interesting because it makes you think….maybe she was risking herself each time she steeled a book….or maybe death took her the fourth time??? I also think that Liesel’s mother is going to die, but Liesel will first find her and maybe they will die together.

Before We Were Free Question #2- The Mancini's Risk

The Mancini’s are letting Anita and her mother hid in their closet. The Macini’s are hiding the secret, not even Oscar and his sisters know. I think that they are taking the right steps even though they are putting their family in risk just to help their friends. It was a great decision, first step, not to tell Oscar and his sisters that Anita and her mother are hiding in the closet. It was a good decision not telling them because, little kids sometimes by accident they spread the secret and in this case if they spread the secret they are going to get Anita and all of them in big trouble. They shouldn’t tell Oscar and his sisters until all the problems are resolved. I think the Mancini’s are being very good people because not all people would do this thing to save their friends. Other people prefer not risking their family, so I think the Mancini’s had a very big heart and braveness of letting them hide in their closet. I think the Mancini’s understand all the problem and difficulties Anita and her family have been through. The Mancini and Anita’s family have been good friends, I think that was another reason the Mancini’s let them hid in their closet. I am glad that all of them are cooperating to make their country free! They are fitting for freedom and I think every person has the right to be free. Anita’s family has a privilege to have the Mancini’s because Tío Pepe is Italian, so Anita and her mother are safe because SIM cannot enter to the Italian Embassy. Also Tío Toni, Papi and the other people of the group choose The Mancini’s house as a refugee in case of the SIM finds out. My opinion was different from the last one. In the last one I didn’t agree that Tío Toni and Papi would put their family in risk but I also thought freedom was the right decision. Now I change my mind and I think the Mancini’s are taking the right steps to protect their friends, and I think they should fight for freedom until they get what they want……FLY, FLY like BUTTERFLIES!! The Mancinis are doing the right steps because if they didn’t offer the closet, a safe place, I think Anita and her mother would have been killed. I think that Mancini’s did the right thing of keeping up that braveness and fight for freedom! I would have done the same thing. If they would have not do this ….all their plan of being free would end ….because they would get killed… and then the Mancini’s would have regret it!! They should get fitting for FREEDOM!!!!

Before We Were Free Summaries!!!::P:P:P:D

June 10, 1961

It’s a Saturday at late night and the light goes on and off all the time. Anita doesn’t know what time it is anymore because they don’t have electric clocks where they are. Anita is starting to wonder and figuring out small, non important things.

June 11, 1961

It is the second Sunday of hiding and Anita misses the old family gathering. Anita always asks her mom about Papi and Tío Toni. Anita was full of questions until her mother told her that Papi and Tío Toni were alive. Anita’s mother started crying. Tío Pepe gave Anita some advice about how to survive with great minds. So Anita remembers when she was little with Papi and Tío Toni. She was remembering her b-day, so she wished Papi and Tío Toni were free and they were all together as a family.

July 3, 1961

It was Monday night and the little girls went into the room and started playing with Mrs. Mascini’s makeup, and scared Anita and Anita’s mother. They were about to enter the closet to get a coat, but suddenly Oscar and later Mrs. Mascini enter the bedroom. They were playing game cards and the one card that was turned over was the Queen of Hearts. (Symbolism) Of Queen of Hearts means= Anita is in love with Oscar and Anita wants Oscar to be his king and she is going to be the queen.

July 15, 1961

It was Saturday morning when they heard on the Radio Swan: “Long Live the Butterflies!” Anita’s mother told Anita stories about Papi and Tío Toni, and she told Anita about the plan and how things got worse. She also explained about the butterflies and the secret plot.
